Ted Cruz to Appear on "Poker After Dark"?

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz this week made an appearance along side World Series of Poker bracelet record holder Phil Hellmuth during filming of the next installment of "Poker After Dark".

Hellmuth tweeted out: "Filmed “Poker After Dark” w Senator Cruz @tedcruz @MrBeast and the legend Doyle Brunson today #POSITIVITY"

"This is the before and after pic where you aren’t really sure who is the before and who is the after," remarked Daniel Negreanu, an ardent Liberal and likely not a Ted Cruz fan.

Nor are a lot of Hellmuth's followers it seems.

David Levenstein tweeted in regard to this past winter's massive Texas power outage and Cruz's response during the crisis:

"Senator Cruz went to Mexico when Texas was hit with a massive storm , freezing temps, massive lost power, instead of helping the people in his state ,votes against Women’s Rights, votes for decreased assistance for the disabled ,supports voting restrictions. Nothing to smile about."

Another wrote:

"I have to admit that this is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen."

And one follower offered this in regard to the show's platform provider:

"PokerGO just got cancelled in my home."

Destroyer of Hypocrisy tweeted:

"Couldn’t have picked a more traitorous POS to take a picture with, let alone hang out with. I know it doesn’t matter to you, but I’ve lost all respect for you, mr beast, and unfortunately me Brunson, and hope this is the beginning of the most amazing bad luck ever!!!"

But not all the responses were negative.

TDK tweeted out:

"Great choice!!! Wonderful Senator and a future President of the United States of America. A TRUE PATRIOT!!!!"

And then there was.....well.....not really much more on the positivity front....no offense to Senator Cruz.

And now for the spoiler...

We don't know how Ted did....but Phil....

He lost to poker newcomer, Mr. Beast.

We don't want to give too much more away.  You'll have to stay tuned.
