James Conner was a key contributor, he ran for 145 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries and Mason Rudolph threw for 251 yards and two scores despite having a shaky start to help the Steelers score 27 unanswered points and get the win.

Pittsburgh eventually woke up and found a way to have consecutive victories for the first time since their six-game winning straight in the middle of last season.

Former Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, who was acquired in a trade last month, intercepted Ryan Fitzpatrick twice and the Steelers forced four turnovers to avoid an embarrassing loss. Falling to the winless Dolphins would have practically ended any playoff hope for the Steelers so they obviously had to find ways to get back in the game after a very weak start.

Mason Rudolph completed 20 of 36 passes, including a 45-yard touchdown to rookie Diontae Johnson late in the second quarter and a 26-yard touchdown to JuJu Smith-Schuster in the third quarter that helped the Steelers take control of the game.

Smith-Schuster stepped up for the Steelers with five receptions for 103 yards and the previously-mentioned touchdown. It was his first 100-yard game this season and they need more of the same from him if they want to have a chance against the Colts in Week 9.
