State Teams in Bowl Games

Auburn will be playing in this year's Music City Bowl having gone 7-5 on the season.  They face off against Purdue.

The Tigers could get better in this game following the hiring of Memphis offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham.  Auburn coach Gus Malzahn will be the team's primary offensive play-caller in 2019, according to a news release.

The main Bowl facus will of course be on the Alabama Crimson Tide, the best in College Football so far this season.

Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, who suffered a high ankle sprain in the SEC title game, participated in Friday's bowl practice but did not take part in one footwork drill.

Mississippi may be one of the best places to run a bookmaking operation.  The state is gambling-friendly, was one of the first to allow regulated sports betting following a Supreme Court decision overturning decades of prohibition and there are commercials for sportsbooks every few minutes during games.  But Mississippi does not regulate mobile online sports betting.  That's where the local bookie has an edge.
