It's finally here!  In-state licensed sports betting is set to launch Monday (March 9, 2020) in Illinois following an extended delay.  That means just in time for March Madness.  Just as in Iowa, those looking to register with a state-licensed online sportsbook will need to do so in person at specified venues for the first two years.  Doing so remotely is not an option.  Additionally two of the most popular sites - Draftkings and FanDuel - will be prevented from entering the Illinois market over this period as well.  BetRivers Sportsbook, located in the 3000 block of South River Road in Des Plaines, will become the first brick-and-mortar sportsbook to open its doors following approval by the Illinois Gaming Board Monday at 10 am.  It features a 4,840 square foot sports bar with a 47-foot-wide HD video wall.
