Popular Florida Casino Cruise Ship Shuts Down

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Gambling911.com) - The Florida casino cruise operator, Victory Casino Cruises, has abruptly shut down, Gambling911.com is learning.

Social media posts from Victory employees say the company's staff has been furloughed.

For now at least, the company seems to suggest the stoppage of service is only temporary.

In a message signed by Captain Tim, the company said the vessel is undergoing maintenance and that “additional necessary work has extended our time out of service.” The statement did not say what work is being done, where the ship is being serviced or when it is expected to return.

“While we had hoped to resume sailing sooner, additional necessary work has extended our time out of service,” the message read.

Victory Casino Cruises has been operating from Port Canaveral, Florida, since 2011.  It features 40,000 square feet across four decks, more than 600 slot machines and 27 live table games.  It had been sailing Tuesdays through Sundays and was not operational on Mondays.
