UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE—ODDS TO WIN 2019-2020 EUROPA LEAGUE

BET ARSENAL TO WIN EUROPA LEAGUE +500
BET MANCHESTER UNITED TO WIN EUROPA LEAGUE +550
BET WOLVES TO WIN EUROPA LEAGUE +2000

This is essentially a play on the English Premier League and their qualitative superiority to every other soccer league in the world (at least for the time being).  Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolverhampton currently sit in 6th, 7th and 8th respectively on the English Premier League table.  Last year, the teams finished 5th, 6th and 7th respectively.  Finishing in this range is probably just fine with Wolves but clearly Arsenal and Manchester United booster expect significantly more out of their teams.  All three sides have been bumbling through Premier League play of late.  Arsenal has only one win in their last 5, Manchester United has only two wins in their last 5 and Wolves also have just 2 wins in 5 though they are unbeaten in 7 straight and have only 2 losses in their last 12 Premiership games.  For all three teams, a Europa League win could at least give their fans hope for the future.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA ODDS TO WIN 2019-2020 (W/O BAYERN MUNICH)

BET BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH +1000 TO WIN BUNDESLIGA (W/O BAYERN MUNICH)
BET HOFFENHEIM +4000 TO WIN BUNDESLIGA (W/O BAYERN MUNICH)

Borussia Monchengladbach is currently on top of the Bundesliga table with a four point advantage over  RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and Freiburg.  They’ve been playing well of late winning 4 of 5 while Bayern Munich has been something of a disappointment with a 2-1-2 record in their last five games.  Bayern certainly hasn’t looked dominant this year.  Hoffenheim is in excellent form right now winning six straight in all competitions and five straight in Bundesliga play.  They’re up to 5th in the league just 1 point back of the aforementioned trio and 5 back of Borussia Monchengladbach.  Nice price on both teams and with this bet even if Bayern comes back to win leaving ‘our’ sides in second place we still cash a hefty ticket.

SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP ODDS TO WIN 2019-2020

BET RANGERS +150 TO WIN SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP

Celtic and Rangers are neck and neck in the Scottish Premier League.  After 12 games the two sides have identical 10-1-1 records and almost have an identical goal scoring profile.  Celtics has 36 goals for and 7 against while Rangers have potted 35 goals while conceding 7.  Hard to get more evenly matched than that.  Since the race is essentially a ‘coin flip’ why not take the plus money on Rangers?  Celtic has been the dominant team in Scotland for the past decade winning eight straight titles and that’s likely the only reason they’re favored.  Of course it’s not like Rangers haven’t had their fair share of glory in the country’s top league.  Here’s how completely these two sides have dominated soccer in Scotland:  the last time a team other than Celtic or Rangers won the Scottish Premiership was 1985 when Aberdeen won the second of back to back titles.  Aside from Aberdeen’s three titles and Dundee United winning in 1983 the title has been one by either Celtic or Rangers since 1965!

SPANISH LA LIGA ODDS TO WIN 2019-2020

BET REAL MADRID +200 TO WIN LA LIGA

Similar premise as the previous play in the Scottish Premier League.  Real Madrid and Barcelona are neck and neck atop La Liga after 12 matches and there’s very little to suggest that one side is substantially better.  Barca has scored 33 and conceded 16 while Madrid has scored 25 and conceded 9.  Madrid isn’t quite the ‘feast or famine’ side that Barcelona has been this year.  They’ve only lost once though have 4 draws.  Barcelona has lost 3, most recently to lower tier Levante.  As is the case with the previous competition the outcome is a ‘coin flip’ so we’ll gladly take plus money on one side.
