The New England Patriots come in ranked at number 2 for Week 8 of the NFL season.

Week 8 Power Ranking

The Patriots have the second shortest odds of winning the Super Bowl after the Rams at 6-1 most books.

From "The Patriots keep winning, with everyone contributing. On Sunday, Josh Gordon made his presence felt -- trucking Bears defenders en route to a near catch-and-run touchdown -- even if he did fail to bat down that Hail Mary ball at the end. Which brings me to Duron Harmon, who deserves kudos for his heads-up approach to that bang-bang play. It was difficult to decipher who made the catch, but Harmon saw that Chicago receiver Kevin White was lumbering forward with the football, a foot away from forcing overtime. That's when Harmon was Duronny-on-the-spot with a stiff tackle. James White must need a stiff drink, considering how many little things he does -- and how many hits he absorbs while doing them."

New England will face Buffalo in a Monday Night Football game.  They will likely have in the back of their minds the Bills shock victory over Minnesota a few weeks back.

But this is a division foe the Pats own even when the Bills have been semi-decent.  They are 8-2 in their last ten meetings.

The Bills come in as +14 home dogs against New England in Week 8.  The NFL Betting Power Ratings suggest the line should be closer to +9.

There are injury issues that have resulted in this overlay.

Bills RB LeSean McCoy is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Patriots. He remained in the concussion protocol and continued to wear a non-contact jersey to practice Saturday.

Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen will not play due to an elbow injury.  Derek Anderson will take over in his place.
