Why the Nationals-Rockies Series Over is so Tempting This Week

Monday night we pretty much knew by the end of the 5th inning in the Nationals-Rockies game our pick on the OVER would not lose.  That's because the score hit 5-5 with an OVER 11.  The pitching got better after that so we still had a bit of a wait to see the end result.

By the bottom of the 7th we had a home run and this guaranteed a push at least, just in case the game went into the 8th and concluded with a rain postponement.

It took until the bottom of the 8th with two out and nobody on for another solo homer to push our record to 6-3-1 (66.6%)

Six of the last seven meetings in Colorado had gone OVER 11 heading into this game and the Nats have the worst bullpens in Major League Baseball with a combined ERA of 7.41.  This was evident with that bottom of the 7th inning solo home run.

Colorado started off the season bad but is 6-1 in their last seven games inching towards the .500 mark at 9-13.  Washington is at the .500 mark (10-10).

So what's on tap Tuesday?

The OVER is 9-4 in the Nationals last 13 games vs. a left-handed starter, however, the UNDER is 27-6 in Kyle Freeland’s last 33 home starts.

Freeland is coming off a win following three straight losses.  Only one of his last five starts have resulted in OVER 10 runs scored.  That was the overnight total.

Patrick Corbin has failed to have a loss this season in four starts.  He had a win against San Francisco his last outing.  Those previous no decisions resulted in runs scored by the opposition of 5,6, and 6, respectively.

Bookies in the DC area are going to be sweating the OVER for a bit it looks like as it's gone that way 12 out of 20 times thus far ahead of Monday night's game.

Consider betting the OVER if the number moves from 10 to 10.5 or even 11.
