A battle for first place in the NFC West takes place in the Week 11 edition of Thursday Night Football when the Arizona Cardinals visit the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle opened the door at the top of the division by losing three of its last four games, and the Cards and Los Angeles Rams pushed it down forging a three-way tie. Despite all three teams owning a 6-3 record, the Seahawks are in a worse spot having already lost to their division compatriots. A 37-34 setback in Arizona in Week 7 started Seattle’s slide, and there’s a good chance we see more of the same with two dynamic quarterbacks going head-to-head. Seattle hit the board as a 3-point favorite on the NFL betting line.  Bookmaker.eu offers a generous welcome bonus (max $1600).

Odds Analysis

Oddsmakers still favor the Seahawks at home tabbing them as a field-goal favorite with no movement on the line since hitting the board. All three of Seattle’s losses during their current funk took place on the road. At CenturyLink Field they are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS. The Cards will play their first road game in a month after completing a three-game homestand with a miraculous finish to beat Buffalo. The ‘Hail Murray’ pass from Kyler to DeAndre Hopkins snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, though the Cards failed to cover for a second straight game. They were positioned as a 3-point favorite over Buffalo and resisted the push by electing to take a knee on the extra point attempt leaving the final score at 32-30. Two of the top scoring teams in the NFL have the total set at 57.5, the highest on the Week 11 board.

The desperation heave from Murray will be talked about in the desert for years. It has even more significance on the current standings. The Cards blew a chance to tie for the division lead with an upset loss to Miami in Week 9 and were on their way to another defeat, until Murray and Hopkins struck. Somehow Hopkins came down with the football while surrounded by three Buffalo defenders. Not only did the play get the Cards a win, it extended their streak of 30-point games to five in row.

Murray has been largely responsible for the offensive onslaught throwing for 888 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 234 yards and four scores on the ground during the recent homestand. Murray has at least one rushing touchdown in five straight games and trails only Dalvin Cook for the NFL lead. “He’s playing at a ridiculous level. You’ve seen it the last few weeks. Offensively, we have really settled in mixing in tempo, making great decisions whether it’s with his feet, his arm. It’s is fun to watch. He’s making us right on a lot of plays,” Kliff Kingsbury said of Murray.

The Cards need to tighten up defensively. They rank ninth giving up an average of 23.3 points, but they’ve surrendered at least 30 in each of the last three games. Seattle amassed 572 total yards when the teams met in Week 7, but the Cards overcame that with three interceptions of Russell Wilson in the overtime victory.

Seattle Seahawks

Teams and players break down over the course of a season. Following their franchise record 5-0 start, experts were giving the No. 1 seed in the NFC to Seattle and the MVP award to Wilson – my how things can change over a short period. The Seahawks have lost two straight and three of four and are now fighting for the playoff life. Playing at home following a brutal two-game road swing should be comforting.

We sometimes take the greatness of Wilson for granted since he’s been so good for so many years. Seattle needs him to stop turning the ball over, which he’s done a whopping 10 times in the three losses. The math is clear; take care of the football and Seattle wins. Wilson has thrown seven of his 10 interceptions and has turned the ball over 10 times in the three losses. He tossed two picks and lost a fumble against the Rams last week, spoiling a fine effort by the defense. “We got tough challenges ahead of us but nothing that we can’t overcome and nothing that I won’t overcome,” Wilson said.

Despite a season-low 16 points against LA, Seattle boasts the NFL’s highest scoring offense at 32.2 points per game. Missing their top two running backs for the last three games put a target on Wilson’s back. That could change this week with Carlos Hyde returning to practice. There’s an outside chance Chris Carson also makes his return.

Back in Week 7 the teams combined for 71 points and 1,091 total yards. It’s hard not to see a repeat considering how much stronger both clubs are on the offensive side. The Seahawks felt they let one get away blowing a 10-point lead late in the fourth and watching a Wilson pick turn into the game-winning field goal. Seattle actually looked decent on defense against the Rams and could get some reinforcements back, which will help them slow Murray and Cards enough to get a payout win.

NFL Score Prediction: Seahawks 38, Cardinals 31
