The line on the Mets-Padres game was -153 Mets and +143 Padres.  The total had come off the 7 to 7.5.  Seven of the last ten meetings have gone OVER the 7.5.

The Mets have the 6th worst bullpen in Major League Baseball with a combined ERA of 4.91.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Noah Syndergaard (2-3, 5.02 ERA) vs. Padres RH Cal Quantrill (0-1, 3.18)

Syndergaard won National League Pitcher of the Week honors by recording 10 strikeouts while tossing a four-hit shutout and adding a solo homer in a 1-0 win over Cincinnati on Thursday. The superb outing followed a four-start stretch during which the 26-year-old allowed 18 earned runs in 22 frames. Syndergaard is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in three career starts against San Diego, striking out 24 batters in 18 innings.

Quantrill is making his second career start after losing to Atlanta in his major-league debut. The 24-year-old allowed two runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out three and walking one. Quantrill, who was the eighth overall pick by the Padres in the 2016 draft, posted a 3-1 record and 4.68 ERA in five starts for Triple-A El Paso prior to being recalled.

The UNDER is 14-6 in San Diego's last 20 home games.

The last seven games the Mets have played in stayed UNDER the posted total.

The Mets have not scored more than 3 runs in their last six games.

On the other hand, San Diego has scored 6 or more runs in half of their last ten games.
