Puerto Rico Approves Sports Betting Online, In-Person

11:14 am ET - With the US Supreme Court overturning decades of prohibition against sports betting, it should come as little surprise that Puerto Rico has just amended its own laws to allow both retail and online sports betting.

The Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory has a population of just over 3.1 million people.

The sports betting approval comes on the heels of the local Senate passing the bill, HR 2038, late last month.

There will be a minimum fee of at least $50,000 to operate.
