With a number of polls showing Democratic candidate Joe Biden up in Iowa in recent weeks, the Des Moines Register seems to be playing the skunk at the garden party Sunday morning.

Oddsmakers had GOP candidate and sitting US President as the -160 favorite to win Iowa.

The president now leads by 7 percentage points over Biden, 48% to 41%.  It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

Their last poll had Trump and Biden tied at 47% each.

Senior Advisor to former President Barack Obama, David Axelrod, on CNN's State of the Union Sunday morning cited the poll as "dubious" however.

But it's not just the Des Moines Register that has Trump back in the lead.

The Democrat leaning Quinnipiac poll had Trump up one point, well within the margin of error.

InsiderAdvantage and Emerson both had Trump between one and two points up.

Trump enjoyed a win in Iowa by a significant margin back in 2016.  Biden only became competitive in the state over the past two months.

As for the Iowa Senate race, the Real Clear Politics average has incumbent Joni Ernst (R) a half point ahead of her Democrat challenger, Theresa Greenfield (D).

Both candidates were priced at -120 at BetOnline.
