Ask and you shall receive. After a disappointing two weeks at the betting window we asked the wise guys to step up their game and the wacky dudes did just that, setting us up with perfection in Week 12. Slumps don’t last and neither do heaters so we better take advantage of wise guy plays while we can. There are only a few weeks left in the regular season so we are running out of time, but we are still in the black after a profitable week.

Catching a line at the right time can be the difference between a winning and losing ticket. That was evident last week when wise guys bought the Northwestern Wildcats at -38 in their matchup with UMass. The line went up later in the week and those who waited were out of luck. Wouldn’t you know it the Cats ended their losing streak with a 45-6 win to cover the 38-point spread.

Another Big Ten game was on the wise guy menu last week with sharps backing the over in the Ohio State-Rutgers tilt. The line hit the board at 51.5 and skyrocketed before coming back down. It didn’t matter. The Buckeyes reached the closing total on their own for a second straight week. Venturing to the Sun Belt, wise guys were behind Appalachian State in its matchup with Georgia State. That was like taking candy from a baby with the Mountaineers easily covering the 16-point line in their 56-27 victory.

There are some great matchups on the Week 13 slate with rivalry games and conference standing on the line. Those are always tougher to handicap, but following the wise guy lead can point you in the right direction. Let’s take a look at a few games where sharp money has impacted the line. College Football Week 13 Wise Guy Picks

TCU at Oklahoma ( -18, 65 ), Saturday, Nov. 23, 8 p.m. ET

A loss and two narrow wins have forced a major overreaction to Oklahoma from the betting public. The Sooners cruised through their first seven games annihilating opponents along the way. They were stunned by Kansas State few weeks ago, beat Iowa State by a point and needed a 25-point comeback to take out Baylor. So, what’s wrong with OU? Apparently a lot according to the public, who jumped on TCU +17 when the line hit.

Wise guys don’t overreact and they don’t bet with their heart, that’s a big reason why we’ve had so much success following their plays every week. Sticking to the plan sharps drove the spread up a full point in a clear move they are backing the Sooners at home. Series history favors OU with five straight wins and four consecutive covers. Wise guys are betting on those going up by one.

San Diego State at Hawai’i ( -3, 51 ), Saturday, Nov. 23, 11 p.m. ET

This is an enormous game in the Mountain West with San Diego State holding a one-game lead over Hawai’i in the West Division so there should be some play from fans out west. There is wise guy action on this one based on the early line movement. The Rainbow Warriors opened as a 1-point favorite and the Aztecs were scooped up in a hurry with nearly 80 percent of the action backing the visitors. Based on that one might think this would be a tossup or the line would jump the fence.

Nope, none of that happened. Instead Hawai’i was wagered to -3, a clear indication of wise guy involvement. Hawai’i has the better offense while San Diego State has a stingy defense. Sharps are counting on the Rainbow Warriors to make some noise at home where historically they’ve been tough to beat.

Illinois at Iowa ( -15.5, 46.5 ), Saturday, Nov. 23, 12 p.m. ET

Public money doesn’t usually tip the scales as much as we’ve seen for this Big Ten matchup. The Hawkeyes opened -12 against Illinois and a majority of the play was on Iowa. Not enough to force a 3.5-point jump on the line, though.  That’s right, the spread climbed to Iowa -15.5 not long after hitting the board.

It looks to me like sharps and squares agree the Illini have not turned a corner despite a four-game winning streak that included a major takedown of Wisconsin, the win that started the current run. Or maybe it’s the magic of Lovie’s beard helping the resurgent Illini. Iowa won last year’s game 63-0 and most agree the Illinois streak comes to an end this week.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?

Bet on Jared Verse Draft Position

Jared Verse had an over/under selection number of 15.5 with CBS Sports believing the Florida State EDGE will be chosen by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 16.
