Wizards guard Bradley Beal broke the franchise record by scoring at least 25 points in 18 consecutive games. The 26-year-old had 34 points, eight assists and five steals in Sunday's 124-110 win against the Warriors.

Bradley Beal is averaging a career-high 30.4 points in 35.8 minutes over 52 games, second in the NBA. He has scored at least 10 points in every one of those 52 contests and his last game with less than 25 points was on January 17 when the Wizards lost 140-111 against the Raptors and he scored 14 points.

Beal should have been an NBA All-Star. The Wizards are not contenders but that was a poor excuse to leave him out of the All-Star game. He became the first player averaging over 28 points to not make the All-Star game since Purvis Short in 1984-85.

The talented guard has been a volume scorer this season but he is shooting 45.8 percent from the field and he also averages 6.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds. Ahead of the All-Star game some said that he had not played enough games this season. That is a poor excuse because at that point he had played in more games than Kyle Lowry. Beal has a minus-2.5 Defensive Box Plus-Minus (DBPM) but playing with a losing team is what hurt his chances. He recently became the first player in NBA history to score 50 points in a loss in consecutive days. He is averaging 42.8 points in his last five games and if he keeps playing like this he should be in the All-NBA team.
