The San Francisco 49ers have dropped three games in a row after looking unbeatable following a 5-0 start to the season.

The slide was enough to drop them into the third spot in terms of Super Bowl LVIII odds on Monday (6-1), but today's trade for Chase Young shifted the odds back toward San Francisco.

SportsBetting.ag is now showing the Niners as Super Bowl favorites while the rest of the market still has Kansas City favored. Now, the odds remain very tight, and the sole addition of Young on a team wouldn't normally move the needle, but the overall scenario has positioned San Fran on top at the moment.

"We started seeing 49ers Super Bowl bets immediately after the trade happened," Sportsbook Manager Robert Cooper said. "Chase Young has largely underwhelmed in his career, save for the rookie season, but putting him in a position to play with his former teammate on an already dominant defensive front...it could be just the icing on the cake that team needs."

Nick Bosa was the No. 2 overall pick out of Ohio State in 2019, and Young followed him in the same spot in 2020. They were dominant during their time with the Buckeyes, and, now, their team is again the Super Bowl favorite.
