With past year's Oscars betting, "locks" have been commonplace in a number of categories.  While this may appear beneficial to online gamblers, most of these guaranteed winners required a wager of $100 just to win $10, this being the more conservative example.

2019 will be different and online bookmakers are banking on more volume as a result.

Sure we still have some locks the likes of Best Director.  Alfonson Cuaron is coming in at 1/20 odds that require a $20 bet just to win a $1.

The high priced categories this year are in the minority, at least as far as the Oscars go.

Case in point, Roma is a mere 1/3 favorite to win Best Picture.  A film with American subtitles has never won for Best Film.  As a result, Green Brook offers some nice value at 3/1 odds for a $30 payout on every $10 bet.

Roma 1/3
Green Book 3/1
The Favourite 20/1
Bohemian Rhapsody 25/1
Black Panther 28/1
BlackKKlansman 28/1
A Star is Born 50/1
Vice 100/1

The Best Actor category is not quite a lock as Rami Malek comes in as the 1/5 favorite, thus resulting in Christian Bale offering some value paying $50 for every $10 bet.

Best Actress has Glenn Close favored at 1/5 as well but, once again, this is not considered a lock in the world of Oscars.  Olivia Colman comes in at 11/2 odds.

The most competitive of the major Oscar categories this year will be for Best Supporting Actress.  Here we have Regina King only a slight favorite to win at 2/5 followed by Amy Adams at 3/1 with a potential to pay out $30 on every $10 bet and Rachel Weisz still has potential at 7/1 odds.

Here are more categories in which to bet on for this year's Oscars:
