Because Game of Thrones was such a mega hit, bookmakers anticipate a more substantial than usual volume of bets coming in on this year's Emmy Awards.  Already GoT was seeing some early heavy wagering compared with the rest of the field.

The cyber-gaming site, SportsBetting.ag (www.sportsbetting.ag), has posted odds for six major Emmy categories: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series and Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama Series.

Lead Actor in a drama is the category closest to a "tossup," according to the oddsmakers, as there are co-favorites and five of the six nominees have less than 10/1 odds.

GoT received a historic 32 Emmy nominations for the final season on Tuesday, including nominations for Benioff and Weiss (for writing the series finale “The Iron Throne”) and Sapochnik (for directing the Winterfell battle episode “The Long Night”).  It was coming in at 1/6 odds of winning Outstanding Drama Series.  Those odds are actually pretty good when one considers that most of the so-called "locks" with the Oscars are somewhere around 1/20 odds.  With Game of Thrones you will bet $60 to win $10 and get that $60 refunded as long as the show wins.  In other words you are profiting $10 for every $60 bet.

The odds are listed in order from top to bottom, favorite to underdog.  PLACE YOUR BETS HERE
