Though Ohio Governor John Kasich has insisted he does not want to be Vice President of the United States, the former US Presidential candidate remains a 3-1 favorite to join presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has also brushed aside the idea of being Trump’s running mate.  She was coming in at between 7-1 and 10-1 odds Thursday (April 5).

New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez was coming in at between 8-1 and 12-1 odds and is said to be on the real estate mogul’s short list for VP but she too has said there is no interest.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had the second shortest odds after Kasich at 4-1 odds but his approval record in NJ have dipped into the single digits.  Christie also failed to gain traction as a Presidential candidate himself.

Not on any oddsmaker lists as of yet surprisingly is Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, an early supporter of Mr. Trump’s and one of three female U.S. representatives in congress who identifies as a "congressman".  Addressing rumors of the vetting process, Ms. Blackburn stated she would seriously consider the offer if asked.

“We believe Ms. Blackburn should be among the favorites,” commented Gambling911.com Senior Editor Payton O’Brien.  “The omission by bookmakers is somewhat perplexing to us.”

Blackburn has been a member of seven committees while serving in Congress since 2002.

One time Speaker of the House during the Bill Clinton Presidency, Newt Gingrich, has also been mentioned as a potential running mate to Trump.  Though most books had him at rather long 12-1 odds, Ladbrokes was offering a price of 4-1 Thursday morning.
