Lock Poker Consultant Eric “Rizen” Lynch announced Thursday that the popular online poker room could pursue legal action against its former pro Jose Macedo.

Known as the “Poker Prodigy”, Macedo was recently caught “multi-tabling” and cheating fellow Lock Poker players out of $30,000.

Mr. Lynch issued the statement on TwoPlusTwo.com:

"Lock is currently pursuing legal action against Jose so we are unable to make a substantial comment at this time. We do realize that ongoing silence can lead to people jumping to conclusions. What happened goes against the very core of our player based philosophy and we intend on exercising our legal rights in the most severe degree. We will keep you updated as things progress.”

Lock Poker immediately terminated its relationship with Macedo once the incident came to light.

PokerNewsReport.com explained in detail what had occurred on the site

Macedo came out on the 2+2 poker forum and admitted what he had done, stating that he had been involved in scamming other high-stakes poker players who had trusted him and allowed him to “sweat” these players while he was actually playing against them on another account.  ”Sweating” means that these other professional poker players had allowed Macedo to watch their online sessions via Skype, and gave him access to their hole cards.  He would then relay these cards to the opponent, which was either one of his close friends, or possibly even Macedo at times.

Others implicated in the scandal include Daniel “jungleman12” Cates, who honed his poker playing skills while working at McDonald’s, and player coach/instructor Haseeb Qureshi.
