A physician and son of the former Premier of Bermuda was sentenced this week to serve up to 17 years in prison.

Kevin Antario Brown, the son of Ewart Brown, was found guilty in August of 21 counts, including sexual battery, sexual exploitation and committing a lewd act stemming from instances where he provided patients with inappropriate breast and pelvic examinations.

Prosecutors say the 40-year-old Brown attacked 11 patients over five years at three of his clinics. Among his victims were a 15-year-old girl and an undercover police officer.

Brown also organized a charity celebrity poker tournament at the Playboy Mansion in 2008.  That money was reportedly pocketed by Brown.

Suzanne Coffman, director of communications for GuideStar, an online service that scrutinizes charities, said that it was a "cause for concern" that the charity's spending on fundraising should dwarf its expenditure on its core humanitarian business. "If that trend continued year on year, those alarm bells would ring louder and louder," she told The Sun newspaper back in 2008.

The Playboy Mansion Celebrity Poker Tournament took place on May 17 and was open to the public.

Poker icon Doyle Brunson, his son Todd Brunson and Pamela Anderson were originally scheduled to take part in that tournament.
