A $9.6 million claim filed against big name poker pro Phil Ivey will likely be delayed at least another year.

Ivey is being used by Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel and Casino over an alleged playing card scam.  The suit is claiming fraudulent winnings during a series of visits to the casino in 2012.

PokerFuse.com was able to obtain the court schedule for this matter with hearings to be held right up to July 2015:

The key dates as ordered by the court are as follows:

  • Agree on digital discovery matters by August 29, 2014
  • Initial discovery requests served by September 30, 2014
  • Telephone status conference on November 10, 2014
  • File amended pleadings and motions by November 28, 2014
  • All pretrial discovery concluded by March 31, 2015
  • All expert reports for defendants due by April 30, 2015
  • Deposition of expert witnesses concluded by June 30, 2015
  • Dispositive motions filed by July 31, 2015

This news comes on the heels of reports that Ivey’s alleged accomplice in the Borgata cheating scandal, Cheng Yin Sun, just filed a lawsuit against the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.

Foxwoods has refused to pay Cheng Yin Sun and two others, alleging they were involved in "edge-sorting".  The technique involves trying to spot asymmetries in mini-baccarat cards being dealt.
