475 Poker Players Compete for $2.3 Million in Aruba Classic

UltimateBet today announced the final prize pool for the 2009 Aruba Poker Classic Main Event. With buy-ins being accepted up until early afternoon on Tuesday, last-minute travelers made their way to the island and bumped the prize pool up to an impressive $2,303,750. A total of 475 players have begun fighting their way to the first place prize of $753,330, the championship title, and bragging rights as UltimateBet's ultimate warrior.

Heading into Day 2 on Wednesday afternoon, 263 players remain including Phil Hellmuth who takes a seat in 28th place with 49,175 in chips.

The Aruba Poker Classic, online poker room UltimateBet's signature island poker tournament, runs until October 10th. The weeklong poker experience includes the $5,500 Main Event, two $2,000 buy-in events, a $1,000 buy-in event, and a number of daily $500+40 No Limit Hold'em tournaments.

Also exclusive to the 2009 Aruba Poker Classic is a Mercedes Giveaway poker tourney. The final table, which is made up of online qualifiers who secured one of 10 spots through UltimateBet.com, will play out live in Aruba on October 9th, 2009.
