  • The Rangers have won a single game in their last 7.

  • Guardians have won eight of their last ten games overall and are 7-3 vs. the Orioles.

Texas Coming Undone

The Texas Rangers just aren't living up to expectations this season as they've managed to win a mere one game in their last seven tries against the likes of Toronto, St. Louis and now Boston.

The Red Sox, meanwhile, are still hanging in there and playing well above early expectations.  They've won half of their last ten games overall.

Though it's a rather small sampling of just 25 at bats, the Texas Rangers career statistics vs. Tanner Houck are just .120. There are nine Rangers who have faced him and none of them have more than one hit off of Houck.

He has lasted six-plus innings in 16 of his 21 appearances and has held all but three of his opponents to three or fewer runs.

Houck posted a quality start in Sunday night’s loss to the Yankees, surrendering four runs (three earned) on five hits over his six innings of work.   Despite his solid pitching, Houck has not had a win in his last two starts and only one win in his last seven.

Cody Bradford is 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA to start for Texas.

Royals Yet to Cool Down

KC has won five straight and six of their last eight overall.  They'll be facing a Detroit team that may have thrown in the towel for the season.

Michael Lorenzen is 5-6 with a 3.81 ERA for the Royals.

The Royals acquired RHP Michael Lorenzen from the Texas Rangers for LHP Walter Pennington.

Tyler Holton will start for Detroit with his three saves on the season thus far to go along with a 2.83 ERA.

Guardians 7-3 vs. Orioles

Cleveland is 7-3 against Baltimore in their last ten meetings.  Cleveland is also the hotter team here, winning eight of their last ten games overall whereas Baltimore has won half of their last ten.

Zach Eflin yielded three runs over six innings to win his Orioles debut against the Blue Jays in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader.

Joey Cantillo starts for Cleveland.
