OAKLAND PARK, Fla. (Gambling911.com) - Can the Cleveland Browns cover +9 point spread versus the Tampa Bay Bucs Sunday? The books are certainly running scared as they initially opened this one at Buccaneers -6.5 and have moved the number up another half point from 8.5 to 9.
At BetMGM, Cleveland at Tampa Bay is the No. 3 most-bet game of Week 2 by ticket count. The Buccaneers are also the fourth-most-bet spread team by tickets and third-most-bet spread team by handle.
At BetOnline, Tampa was now the second most backed team on the spread by bettors.
Todd Bowles First Head Coach Fired Betting Market
BetOnline Sports & Casino opened its "First Head Coach Fired" market on August 10. Early money has already shifted the board: initial favorite Aaron Glenn has been surpassed by Dan Quinn.
The oddsmakers did say this year was harder to do than others as there are so many first- and second-year coaches, plus some coaches who can seemingly stay as long as they want (Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, Andy Reid).
But after last week, Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles was listed with the second shortest odds to be the first NFL head coach fired with a payout of $325 for every $100 bet.
Should Tampa fall to the Browns this week, those odds will get shorter (assuming he's not canned before BetOnline has a chance to release them).
