OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - BetOnline released a series of 2026 NFL season prop bets, both for teams and players. This includes whether JJ McCarthy will start a game this season. Should he do so, the payout would be $150 for every $100 bet.
McCarthy was Minnesota's No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after winning the national championship at Michigan. After missing his entire rookie season, he finally became Minnesota's starter in 2025. The results were extremely uneven: 1,632 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and 12 Iinterceptions in 10 starts, completing only 57.6% of his passes. He did add 181 rushing yards and four rushing TDs.
The Vikings had considered starting JJ McCarthy against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, but that ended quick.
Kyler Murray won the starting job over McCarthy in early August, then got hurt . He was back at practice on Wednesday in a limited capacity, indicating that he is about halfway through the five-step concussion protocol.
Carson Wentz is most likely to start in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears.
We've also covered Baker Mayfield's odds of having the most lost fumbles this season after he lost three in Week 1. That payout is close to $200 for every $100 bet.
