Who would have thunk it? The Miami Heat have (almost) made it into the NBA Finals and they'll be facing a Denver Nuggets team when (if) that that happens. The Nuggets have never made it here in its 47 years in the league. Almost There
The Heat were up 3-1 and on the verge of sweeping the Boston Celtics. Denver has already punched their card into the Finals.
"We want to come back to Miami," Jaylen Brown said after the second-seeded Celtics avoided the sweep Tuesday night.
Jimmy Butler recorded team highs in points (29) and rebounds (nine) on Tuesday.
"The only thing I'm going to say is we'll be OK," Butler said. "Let's get back to doing what we've always done to get us to this point. Continually have belief in one another, knowing that we are going to win, and we will. We've just got to play harder.
"There's not too much to say with this group because we already know. So we've just got to go out there and execute."
When Tyler Herro went down early in the Playoffs with a broken hand, many thought it wouldn't make much of a difference that he'd be unable to play for a few weeks. Few thought the Heat would get this far without him. They did.
And now Herro, who averaged 20 points during the regular season, is cleared to start participating in team activities again. Specifically, he is able to begin dribbling and shooting work, just no physical contact yet.
“He’s starting the process,” Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said.
