The Sooners are favored to lose just two regular season games in 2022 at -125.

There is a commonly held belief that this could be a building year for Oklahoma, which makes the Sooners vulnerable.

Nevertheless, they are still very much in the hunt for a College Football Playoff Championship at 50-1 odds most books.

They have a new head coach in Brent Venables, who made his first appearance at Big 12 media days in Mid-July.

It was there that he spoke highly of his starting quarterback.

"Dillon Gabriel's a winner," Venables said. "You can't say it any better than that. I can lay my head down at night knowing not just what [Gabriel] has done on the football field, but the quality of the person he is. He's about all the right stuff. He's dependable, he's reliable, he's accountable, he's humble."

What to Know Before You Bet Oklahoma Sooners Futures

  • Venables' major task will be bringing everyone and everything together even with the top talent on hand.
  • Oklahoma was seen as having a poor season in 2021, even with just two losses.
  • The Sooners ended 2021 with a 5-6-1 record Against The Spread, highlighting why the season was disappointing.
  • Starting QB Gabriel threw for 8,037 yards and scored 79 total touchdowns in his three seasons at UCF.
  • The schedule includes Baylor and Oklahoma State as well as another improved team, Texas.
  • It doesn't help that a number of players have departed.
  • Oklahoma will have its work cut out for them and, as such, Gambling911.com sees more than two regular season losses.
