Among the most feared opponents in 2022, Notre Dame has a total of 8.5 and the OVER is favored at -145.

Eleven victories per season for half a decade has become the norm.  Notre Dame has a new coach in Marcus Freeman, considered a top recruiter.

"We will be disciplined, we will be tough, we will work tirelessly," Freeman says. "As a team and as a family, we'll accomplish all of our goals. I plan on leading this team with an unwavering standard. We will call it the golden standard.

"We're going to out-work everybody in the country. We're going to do things that no one else has done. We want to be unique in how we develop relationships."

What to Know Before You Bet Notre Dame Fighting Irish Futures

  • Not only did Notre Dame lose just one game last season, they were 9-3 Against The Spread.

  • Notre Dame's third defensive coordinator in three years is Al Golden.
  • End Isaiah Foskey, an NFL first-round draft candidate, had 11 sacks last season.
  • The linebacker corps is especially talented.
  • Athlon Sports notes that the season hinges on a) the consistency of the unproven quarterback(s), b) the development of a big wideout and c) the evolution of Notre Dame's secondary.
  • The Irish will be tested early with a Week 1 game in Ohio State, an early gift to sports bettors and college football fans nationwide.
  • Gambling911.com has a line of Buckeyes -8.5.
  • The Notre Dame vs. BYU game in Vegas looks a little scary on paper, but that one should have the Irish a -9.5 favorite.
