Northwestern got off to a strong start to the 2022, beating Nebraska 31-28 in Dublin.

Northwestern scored the final 14 points of the game after Nebraska tried an onside kick with 9:09 to play in the third quarter.

The Wildcats will still have to go to Penn State and Maryland and, sandwiched in between those games is Wisconsin at Northwestern.

Duke, Northern Illinois, and Miami University are all winable games at home. And none of those are guaranteed but they still stay UNDER the posted total with said victories.

There is some hope that a decent number of returning players will help this season, leading to improved results on both lines, fewer turnovers and less headaches at the red zone.  They also need dramatic improvements with their passing game.

Northwestern bottomed out last fall with one of the team's worst records (3-9), finishing last in the Big Ten in points scored and 12th in points allowed.  While there may be some mild improvements, it's difficult seeing this team get beyond 4 wins.

The Week 0 win was certainly good news for OVER bettors as Nebraska came into this one a big favorite and oddsmakers had this one in the loss category for the Wildcats when arriving at this total.  Three more wins to go!!!
