Oddsmakers at BetOnline have the Alabama Crimson Tide winning UNDER 10.5 regular season games priced at -170.  Last year, the OVER 10.5 was priced at -265.  By Alabama standards, 2022 was considered a major disappointment. That's saying a lot. They only lost two games in 2022-23.  Against The Spread they broke even.

What to Know Before You Bet Alabama Futures

  • Using the end-of-year ratings, Alabama would be a -10.5 favorite against Texas at home.
  • At least early on, Tennessee is the most dangerous team on the schedule.  But like Texas, they'll be playing in Alabama.  The Tide would be a -4 to -4.5 favorite.
  • The Tide have a pair of new coordinators in Tommy Rees (offense) and Kevin Steele (defense).
  • Alabama returns nine starters from a squad that failed to reach the SEC Championship Game.
  • The Crimson Tide will return every player on their special teams and it should be one of the best units in college football.
  • Kevin Steele should have an immediate impact on the Alabama defense, according to BamaOnLine’s Tim Watts.
  • Watts had this to say: “The linebacker play (under Pete Golding) was very criticized,” Watts said. “I mean, they’ve had good linebackers. They’ve had guys that went in the draft. Some guys who probably fell who had the talent to go higher, Mack Wilson, you know, Christian Harris … Kevin Steele is known for his linebacker play. And I think at the end of the day, that’s going to be where it starts.  It’s going to start with fundamentals. He’s an old school guy, likes to get to the ball. He likes to hit you know, we’ve seen no matter what you think of Kevin Steele, when he has talent, he’s been very successful.”
