Navy will be facing Notre Dame in Week 1 of the 2023 College Football regular season.  The early line had the Midshipmen open as +18.5 underdogs but the line was all over the map heading into the new season.  Odds ranged from +19.5 at BetMGM to +20.5 at FanDuel.  Most books featured a number of +20.

BetUS offered Navy at +19.5 with the money line promising a payout of $800 for every $100 bet should the Midshipmen win outright.

During the 2022 regular season, underdogs went 188-532 (26.1%) Straight Up and 373-334 (52.8%) Against The Spread.  The 10+ underdogs were 54-292 (15.6%) Straight Up and 179-158-9 (53.1%) Against The Spread.

College Football News has Navy winning just five regular season games.  BetUS has the Under 6.5 priced at -145 and we wouldn't dare touch the Over.

You would definitely NOT want to bet Navy on the money line this week as Notre Dame has gone 46-3 Straight Up as a favorite since 2018.

The best bet on Navy as we head into the new season would be for the Midshipmen to win Under 6.5 regular season games in 2023 even with the -145 price tag.

Despite winning just four regular season games in 2022, Navy managed to go 7-5 Against The Spread and thus somehow turning a profit for gamblers.

They performed even better the season prior, going 8-4 ATS despite winning just four regular season games Straight Up.

In 2019, Navy had its last winning season with a 10-2 record Straight Up and finishing 9-3 Against The Spread.

The Midshipmen have certainly played well Against The Spread in recent years, but are not expected to improve much in 2023.
