Chamath Palihapitiya, owner of Golden State Warriors and former Facebook executive, addresses his recent comments on social media, his views on Bitcoin, and his take on Tesla founder Elon Musk in a wide-ranging interview on CNBC's "Squawk Box."

In fact, Palihapitiya suggested, because of all the bank’s various missteps over the years, you should sell everything and buy Bitcoin.

He owned a nice percentage of all the Bitcoin out there in 2013 along with some others from his native San Francisco but eventually sold.

Later he noted: “There's so much at asymmetric upside here.  This is a thing that either goes to – at the time I said – roughly the value of gold.”

“There is very little downside,” he added.
