Epicharis failed to pass the prerace veterinary exam performed by Anthony Verderosa, the chief examining veterinarian for the New York Racing Association.

Gambling911.com was among the first to report via the Daily Racing Forum Friday that Epicharis may have been lame in his front right foot. Epicharis was among this week’s favorites to win the Belmont Stakes.
