AFC South Futures Off Board with Andrew Luck Shoulder Concerns for Colts

First it was the Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco expected to miss upwards of 6 weeks following his shoulder surgery and now we are learning that Andrew Luck has yet to throw a football after he too underwent a similar surgery, believed to be some time in January.   Oddsmakers pulled AFC South future odds off the board this weekend.

On Saturday, luck would not commit to a return date.

“I would say that there's no reason to freak out," Luck told reporters Saturday. "I will be better than I was coming into this coming out. I know that. I don't know what day it's going to be, I don't know what week, I don't know when it's going to be but I definitely will be. So there's no reason to freak out. And on that note, football is the greatest team game in the world. No one person is bigger than the team and I've always felt that. We've got a solid, solid team that is forming at this complex. So, no reason to freak out."

This translated to fans and oddsmakers all freaking out.  And with good reason, we suppose.  Many experts believe the full recovery process for this type of surgery typically takes anywhere from nine months to a year.

The line on the Colts-Rams game still had Indianapolis as a -3.5 visiting favorite for Week 1.
