Below we take a look at the over/under totals for hits allowed with each of today's starting pitchers.  Note that most of the totals come in around 4.5 to 5.5.  You'll want to see who among the starters has the better price based on some helpful observances.

ESPN notes that, on paper, through the first three-plus weeks of the season, the Rockies have one of the weakest lineups in the league, but when they're at home, they're a top-10 unit.

Cal Quantrill, starting for the Rockies, is coming in with an over 5.5 hits allowed priced at -164 on the over. 

George Kirby, taking the mound for Seattle, comes in priced -122 to go over 6.5, -159 to stay under that number.

Arizona Diamondbacks Jordan Montgomery is a lofty -186 favorite to allow under 5.5 hits hosting the San Francisco Giants, who put Blake Snell on the mound.  This will be Montgomery's debut for the Diamondbacks.

ESPN writes of his likely performance Friday:

"What gives Montgomery the edge in this matchup, compared to either Snell or Chapman, is that the Giants have been a middling offense thus far, including against left-handed pitchers. A sinker/curveball/changeup reliant pitcher, Montgomery matches up well against this Giants offense that lacks many standouts against that particular pitch repertoire.

"As for Snell, his inconsistent command fuels concerns heading into a matchup with a Diamondbacks offense that has been the majors' second best against left-handers in terms of both team wOBA (.356) and whiff rate (18% of swings)."

Taking a look at the Red Sox vs. Pirates game, the sports handicapper leaderboard at the Sports Hub has Bobby Conn going 10-0 his last ten picks.  And guess who he is on today?  The Boston Red Sox at +105.

Brayon Bello starts for Boston and is favored to allow over 5.5 hits at a price tag of +118.

Zack Wheeler is among the top starting pitchers of the day for the Phillies and is expected to allow no more than 4 hits on the day against a White Sox lineup that has hit 13 of 52 against him (.250).  Paul DeJong has the two home runs versus Wheeler and is averaging .262 so far this season with three homers so far. 

Zac Gallen is a favorite to stay under 5.5 hits allowed.  He's permitted 27 in 108 against this San Francisco roster (.250) with only one home run over that span. Gallen was outstanding in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Cardinals, racking up seven strikeouts over six innings of shutout baseball.

Ronel Blanco for Houston is rostered in 83.8 percent of ESPN's leagues.  Thus far he has a .118 BABIP and 86.7% left on base mark, "both of which are wholly unsustainable," according to ESPN.   He's favored to give up 5.5 hits at -167 with the over paying out $127 on a $100 bet.
