Winnipeg Jets Odds 30-1 to Win Western Conference Amidst Evander Kane Flap

The Winnipeg Jets were coming in at 30-1 odds of winning the 2015 Western Conference as that organization has fallen into deep disarray in recent days.

Jets forward, Evander Kane, was a no-show for Tuesday night’s game against Vancouver after teammate Dustin Byfluglien reportedly threw Kane's tracksuit into the shower following the team's morning skate.  It was initially reported that Kane's absence came as a result of his arriving to the rink Tuesday morning in a tracksuit rather than a formal dress suit.

Byfluglien responded to the SportsNet report on Thursday.

“We’re just a tight group,” he said. “It is what it is. That’s just among us. Things we’ve just got to handle ourselves.”

“There’s a standard that everyone needs to live up to,” added teammate Blake Wheeler. “We’re professionals, we make a lot of money. And we’re expected to uphold a certain standard. That’s the code we live by. That’s just the way it is.

“If you don’t like it then there’s other places to go. This is the way we do things.”

4th in the Western Conference but currently on a five game skid.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
