GRAY MAYNARD PK+115

FRANKIE EDGAR PK-145

This fight will definitely be a close one as Edgar looks to make the third defense of his championship, and Maynard standing there as the only man to have beaten him.

In UFC 125, the second contest ended with a draw, of course after five tremendous rounds, neither of the two fighters was pleased.

Back on April 2008, Maynard scored takedowns and dominated Edgar on the mat, but on the second fight adjustments were made by the champion. The key for Edgar is to keep improving on their standup and footwork, he needs to deny Maynard to bring him to the ground.

"I thought I did enough in the stand-up portion. I also finished (the round) with a guillotine. I think I did enough to win that round”, commented Edgar about the third round after the second fight.

To me the Edge right now belongs to Frankie Edgar as he reveled from the first meeting beat down.  "I went back to the corner and I felt numb and a little drained. It was just the adrenaline dump. It was just...a flush. My arms and my legs were just kinda 'jellowy”, said Maynard after the second round of UFC 125.
