UFC 105 takes place on Saturday, November 14th - Spike TV from Manchester, England and it should be very popular since the event is being televised on the cable network FREE OF CHARGE. That means no pay-per-view costs and it could mean increased betting excitement. UFC 105 is headlined by UFC legend Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera in a bout that should be extremely competitive. Couture is a slight -120 favorite at SBG Global.
Couture has been around seemingly forever but he is getting a lot of respect in UFC odds even though Vera is the more talented fighter. Couture wins by getting to the ground so it will be up to Vera to keep the fight upright. Couture has the experience and the intelligence edge and that might be enough to get past the more talented Vera.
Also on the main portion of the UFC 105 betting card it is Mike Swick facing Dan Hardy. Swick is a -210 favorite at SBG Global. This is a very important bout since the winner is going to get a title shot at welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. This fight is similar in some respects to the Couture-Vera bout. It should be close and competitive. Both fighters are excellent strikers so this bout should see a lot of action.
Michael Bisping and Denis Kang meet in a middleweight bout in UFC 105 odds. This could be a short bout since Kang goes for everything right from the opening bell. The danger for Kang is if Bisping survives his opening assault. The oddsmakers don't know what to make of this fight as Kang is a lukewarm -125 favorite at SBG Global.
The other two bouts on the main part of the card have Matt Brown facing James Wilks and Ross Pearson facing Aaron Riley. Brown is a -155 favorite at SBG Global while Riley is a -210 choice. The battle between Brown and Wilks is a contrast of styles. Wilks has the advantage if the fight stays upright while Brown has the edge on the ground. Riley has the experience edge in his bout against Pearson but laying 2-1 against a talented fighter might be too much to ask.
Don't forget that there are also six bouts on the preliminary card that should also be interesting in UFC 105.
