Texas Rangers vs. Detroit Tigers game takes place Monday, 7:05 pm Eastern

The Texas Rangers begin a three-game series at Detroit on Monday night with Scott Feldman expected to get the start.  It has not been a good MLB betting season for the Rangers right-hander as he is 5-8 with a 5.32 ERA.  It should be a high scoring game on Monday considering the Tigers are going with their weak link in the rotation as Jeremy Bonderman gets the start.

SBG Global current line: Tigers - 120, Total 9.5 Under - 115.

Feldman has only pitched into the sixth inning in three of his last eleven starts.  In his last three starts he is 0-2 with a 5.30 ERA. He has been awful in his career against the Tigers going 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA.

The Tigers are set to go with Bonderman on Monday and that should mean a lot of runs scored by Texas. Bonderman is 5-6 on the baseball betting season with a 4.79 ERA.  In his last three starts he is 2-1 with a 7.71 ERA.  He is 2-1 in this career against the Rangers with a 4.93 ERA.  Feldman was a 17-game winner last year but he has really struggled this season.

The Rangers are third in the league in runs scored and in this series against the Tigers, many of the previous games have gone over.  Earlier this season in a four-game series in Texas, three of the four games went over the total and the other game was a push.  The teams split that four game series with a total of 47 runs being scored. The Rangers have had no success at Detroit recently, losing the last 11 in a row. The Rangers have a much improved pitching staff over last season even though Feldman has not done much to help.  The Rangers did acquire Cliff Lee and he should give them a big boost in the second half of the season.

The Tigers are 32-13 at home this baseball season and that is the main reason they are in the hunt in the American League Central. The Tigers don’t overwhelm you with their status as they are 11th in runs per game and 20th in ERA.  If they want to win the Central they are going to need to get more consistency from their pitching staff and better outings by Bonderman would sure help.
