Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Dallas Cowboys betting odds opened at Dallas -1 and has moved up to -2 ½ at online bookmakers the likes of Bookmaker.com. Even books that had the line around -1 ½ like at Sports Interaction were showing relatively even action on both sides. Surprising since one would think the Dallas Cowboys are so hungry for a win here.

Once considered by many to be the best team in the NFL at 3-0, Dallas is now flailing. And it gets no easier the next three weeks, as Dallas plays three foes with a current combined record of 15-5, points out Athlon Sports.

In the Tampa Bay area, the big story is the Tampa Bay Rays' stunning run to the World Series. But the Bucs have quietly assembled one of their typical teams. QB Jeff Garcia is back in Jon Gruden's good graces and throwing on the run, and the Bucs' defense just keeps coming with veterans like LB Derrick Brooks and Barrett Ruud and CB Ronde Barber. In Tampa, they know very well the Super Bowl will be played there Feb. 1, and the Bucs would love to become the first-ever team to play the Super Bowl on its home turf.

WR Antonio Bryant has played so well for Tampa Bay in the absence of veteran speedster Joey Galloway that it appears Bryant will now take the starting job for the long haul. Garcia threw for 226 yards in the first half alone against Seattle and seems to have re-buried Brian Griese on the depth chart for now. RB Earnest Graham has shuffled between TB and FB, depending on injuries, and is playing both with power.

When we look at this series dating back to 1990, the home team has gone 4-2, but the teams have split wins. This decade, Tampa Bay is 3-1, having lost their last game in Dallas 38-10. The other two games they lost to Dallas were by a mere 4 points.

History suggests an edge going towards Tampa, but it's a hard one to predict being that Dallas is going to be so hungry for a win.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
