Stanley Cup Finals

Stanley Cup Finals Game 2 odds for the Philadelphia Flyers vs. Chicago Blackhawks were available at SBG Global. Chicago is a -200 favorite in Game 2 with a total of 6 at SBG Global.  This game goes off Monday, 8:05 pm Eastern - NBC

The Stanley Cup Finals betting continue on Monday night in Chicago with the Blackhawks looking to take a 2-0 series lead. Chicago won a wild opening game on Saturday night as they outscored Philadelphia 6-5.  It was quite a start to the Stanley Cup Finals with 11 goals, 64 shots and six lead changes.  Tomas Kopecky scored the game winner for Chicago in the third period. It was the most goals scored in a Game 1 since 1992.

This series between the Flyers and Blackhawks was supposed to be about goaltending but Flyers' goaltender Michael Leighton didn't play well and his backup Brian Boucher was not much better. Chicago's Antti Niemi wasn't great but he made the big stops in the third period when the game was on the line.

The Flyers may end up regretting Game 1 as they really let the game get away. Chicago's top line of Jonathaw Toews, Patrick Kane and Dustin Byfuglien were terrible as they went a combined minus-9 in the game. The Flyers didn't commit a single penalty and they still lost. The Blackhawks realize that they probably stole a game they shouldn't have won.  That does not bode well for the Flyers who were underdogs to start with. When the underdog doesn't win a game they should, they almost never win the NHL series. The Blackhawks proved they can win without their top line doing anything and when they didn't have a single power play.  They will try and play a better game on Monday night and take a 2-0 lead.

Here are the betting stats for Monday's game. The Flyers are 4-1 in their last 5 Monday games. The Flyers are 5-11 in their last 16 games as a road underdog.

The Blackhawks are 7-0 in their last 7 Monday games. The Blackhawks are 42-16 in their last 58 games as a home favorite. The home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between the two teams and the favorite is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Looking at the total, the Over is 5-2 in the Flyers last 7 overall. The Over is 8-3-2 in the Blackhawks last 13 overall.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
