What an upset at Raven's Pass at 7/1 odds (see Sports Interaction) wins the 2008 Breeders' Cup Classic.

Heading into Saturday, there was quite a bit of talk about Raven's Pass, though most of the discussion was related to the favorite, Curlin.

The Belfast Telegraph reported:

While the Americans can be expected to dominate most of the Breeder's Cup races on home terrain, expect a better show from this side of the pond in the 25th renewal of this annual contest on Friday and Saturday in the sunshine State of California where $25.5m in prize money is up for grabs.

Why? Because the dirt track has gone. All races will be on turf and the new all-weather surface, something akin to racing at Lingfield.

Raven's Pass is worth a each-way bet to overturn Curlin who is 5-2 market leader.

The 2008 Breeders' Cup appeared to be a race where an upset could occur. All horses outside of Curlin were 6/1 odds or longer.

The payout will be $700 for every $100 bet.

Henrythenavigator and Tiago finished second and third, respectively.   Curlin finished 4th.
