Phil Mickelson Odds to Win US Masters Were Around 8 to 1

Don’t look now but one of the favorites to win the 2012 US Masters, Phil Mickelson, was surging Saturday.  A win would be his 4th green jacket.  He currently would pay $11 for every $10 bet with a win at Bookmaker.eu.  All wagers must be placed by Sunday morning.

Sweden’s Peter Hanson, making only his second appearance at the year's first major, sat atop the leaderboard just above Mickelson.  His odds were listed at +365 for a payout potential of $36.50 for every $10 bet.

Louis Oosthuizen would pay out $55 for every $10 bet and Bubba Watson would pay out $75 for every $10 bet with a win.

To close the day, Mickelson posted a 3 on the par-4 18th -- making him 3 for 3 in the birdie department there this week.

"It's Thursday," Mickelson said when asked which day this week has been most important to this run. "Because at some point on this golf course, I'm going to get hot, make birdies, maybe an eagle here or there. At some point, I'm going to get on the leaderboard. Staying in it on Thursday allowed me to make a run."
