A lot of you may still be hung over by the time the first big bowl game of the day starts at 5 pm EST.  But you'll be forced to watch and while doing so can place your bets at SBG Global on the Orange Bowl.  SBG Global has been offering betting previews on the bowl games throughout the month and into the new year as we approach the BCS Championship.

SBG Global Opening Line: Cincinnati  -  2   ,  Total  41

The Cincinnati Bearcats will get a chance on Thursday night to prove they belong in a BCS bowl as they face Virginia Tech.  It will be the first time that the Bearcats have ever been in a BCS bowl game. The Bearcats won the Big East title this season and finished with a very impressive 11-2 record, defeating three ranked teams along the way. "All due respect to the PapaJohns.com Bowl, I think we've got a big upgrade," said head coach Brian Kelly. SBG Global reports that early College Football bettingg has the public taking Cincinnati at Home.

The Bearcats and Hokies last played in 2006 when the Hokies won 29-13. Many of the Cincinnati players still remember that loss. "We all remember that stuff," senior defensive end Connor Barwin said. "I'm excited to play Virginia Tech again. Playing down there was awesome. Their coach is one of the best in the country."

The Hokies will be trying to break a four-game losing streak in BCS bowl games.  The Hokies lost to Kansas last year, Auburn in 2005, Florida State in 2000 and Nebraska in 1996. "Last year, it left a bad taste in our mouth," senior cornerback Victor "Macho" Harris said. "This year, we're going to try to get that taste out of our mouth." The ACC has lost their last eight BCS bowl games while the Big East has won its last three BCS bowl games. "When you're representing a conference, there's a pride factor and I'm sure both of us share that," Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer said. "You're kind of judged on how you do against the other College Football bettingg conferences and the ACC hasn't done as well as we should have."

Virginia Tech is only allowing 17.5 points per game this season. They held nine of their 13 opponents below 20 points and they forced 30 turnovers during the season. Harris had six interceptions, including two for touchdowns.  On the other side of the ball the Virginia Tech offense is led by redshirt freshman Darren Evans, who rushed for 1,112 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Cincinnati is led by junior quarterback Tony Pike who completed 62.9 percent of his passes with 18 TDs and seven interceptions.  Junior Marshwan Gilyard had 74 receptions for 1,118 yards and 10 TDs and senior Dominick Goodman caught 78 passes for 977 yards and seven TDs.

SBG Global Current Line: Cincinnati  -  2.5   ,  Total  42

Virginia Tech is 6-9 ATS in their last 15 bowl games while the Bearcats are 2-5 against the spread in their last 7 bowl games.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
