The odds to win the 2009 NCAA Championship have been revised heading into Saturday's games.  These latest odds were available as of March 20, 2009 at Super Book  You will need to lock these odds in immediately to take advantage of the below prices as they will most certainly change after the weekend and will not be available during game time.   Updated odds to win the 2009 NCAA Championship will be available Sunday morning.

Among the big surprises on Friday was Marquette's near loss to Utah State.  They just narrowly avoided a calamity with a 58-57 victory. The Golden Eagles blew a 14-point lead, then overcame a 49-43 deficit.

East Tennessee State game number one seed Pittsburgh a run for its money.

Playing as a No. 1 seed for the first time but hardly looking the part, Pitt overcame a sloppy performance and a frightful 40 minutes from No. 16 seed East Tennessee State to advance with a 72-62 win on Friday in the East Regional.

ETSU, a small college tucked in the rolling hills of northeast Tennessee, nearly pulled off the shocker of shockers.

A No. 16 has never beaten a No. 1.

"We had them," said senior guard Kevin Tiggs. "We just couldn't get over the hump."

Pittsburgh, trying to shake its reputation as an underachiever this time of year, will play eighth-seeded Oklahoma State, a 75-77 winner over ninth-seeded Tennessee, in Sunday's second round.

Pittsburgh won but failed to cover.

One of the biggest shocker came when number 11-seeded Dayton beat number 6-seeded West Virginia.

"That one was bound to throw off a lot of brackets," commented Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  With the win, Dayton got its first tournament victory in 19 years.

Number 12-seeded Arizona did beat number 5-seeded Utah as widely expected.

Number 10-seeded USC beat number 7-seeded Boston College as many had predicted.

Sienna, a number 9 seed, stunned number 8-seeded Ohio State.

Number 12-seeded Wisconsin upset number 5-seeded Florida State in an overtime victory.

But the biggest shocker of the tournament thus far had to be Cleveland State's statement victory over Wake Forest.  Cleveland State was a number 13 seed playing Wake Forest, a number 4 seed.

Some interesting notes:

  •  The Vikings stunned the Demon Deacons behind a team-high 22 points from Norris Cole, the third-highest total of his career.

In their only prior tourney appearance in 1986, Cleveland State shocked third-seeded Indiana in the first round and advanced to the Sweet 16, one of two teams seeded 14 or lower in NCAA history to do so.

The 15-point win is tied for the third-largest margin of victory by a 13th seed over a fourth seed in tournament history.

Wake Forest lost in the first round for the first time in their last five tournament appearances (lost to Butler in 2001).
