Minnesota Vikings

NFL betting odds for the Minnesota Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game opened up at Tampa Bay -3 and had settled in just about everywhere at -4 by Saturday.

Aside from the last game played in this series in 2005, all 9 of the previous games were won by the home team.  Only one of those games was won by less than the 4 point spread.   These historic head-to-head matchup stats give a terrific edge to the Bucs.  Even more so, the Buccaneers have won the last 3 in this series.

The Vikings are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 against the NFC.  They are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a Straight Up loss.

Bucs RB Cadillac Williams has not played since suffering a gruesome knee injury in Week 4 of the 2007 season, but he could get some action on Sunday. He says he feels good but "at the same time ... we want to be smart about the whole thing." When healthy, Williams is one of the more explosive rushers in the league.

Coming off his best rushing day of the season, Peterson looks to help the Vikings maintain their momentum Sunday by getting their first win at Raymond James Stadium and handing the Buccaneers their first home loss of the year.

Minnesota (5-4) is trying for its third straight victory and fifth in six games after winning a key division matchup last Sunday. The Vikings moved into a tie with the Chicago Bears for the NFC North lead after beating the Green Bay Packers 28-27.

Peterson rushed for a season-high 192 yards, scoring the go-ahead touchdown on a 29-yard run with 2:22 remaining.

"I can't compare him to anybody," Vikings quarterback Gus Frerrote said. "I mean, the guy is just incredible."

But the Gambling911.com pick in this game will be Tampa Bay as a -4 favorite at betED.com.
