The New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills betting odds opened at -5 ½ and have stayed there at the majority of online sportsbooks including BetUS.com, which was offering a $50 free play on this game for new depositors.

The New York Jets (4-3, 3-4 ATS, 3-4 O/U) are coming off a come-from-behind 28-24 home victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, but have looked very shaky the last two weeks, Eric Williams of BetUS.com points out.

After subduing the San Diego Chargers in Week 7, the Buffalo Bills (5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS, 4-3 O/U) were man-handled by the Miami Dolphins in their 25-16 road loss on Sunday.

Jets quarterback Brett Favre was soundly booed after throwing his third interception of the game, but quieted Jets fans who attended the game by leading New York to victory over the lowly Chiefs.

"I've heard them in Green Bay before," Favre said. "I don't blame them, but it was a little premature, as we see now."

Where the all important historic trends go, the home team has gone 7-3 in this series; The Bills have gone 6-4 Straight Up and 7-3 Against The Spread.  More importantly perhaps, Buffalo has won the last three (two by double digits) verses the Jets.

Buffalo's only two losses this season have come on the road.  With the exception of a close call against Oakland, the Bills have handled teams well at home.

The Jets are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win.  And while the Bills are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games, they are also 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Buffalo would probably be great in any 6 point teaser, but this line is just a little too high for our liking.
