The most anticipated game so far this season takes place on Christmas Day as the Los Angeles Lakers host the Boston Celtics in a rematch of last year's Finals.  The two teams seem destined to meet gain in the Finals this season as they enter Thursday's game leading their respective conferences.  The Celtics have won 19 straight games and look like one of the best teams in NBA history.  The Lakers also look improved from last season as Kobe Bryant is getting a lot of help, especially from a healthy Andrew Bynum who is averaging 12.4 point and 8.4 rebounds per game.  Bynum did not play at all in last year's Finals and the Lakers believe he makes a major difference.

The Lakers come into Thursday's game leading the NBA in scoring at 107 points per game.   That offense will be tested by a Boston team that is leading the league in opponent's shooting percentage at 42%.  The Celtics are also pretty good offensively, averaging 107 points per game during their 19-game winning streak.

While the fans are excited about the matchup both teams are downplaying the rematch. "I totally appreciate the whole history of the Lakers and Celtics and the tradition, the players who've come through both teams, the foundations of this league," Boston's Kevin Garnett said, "But to put all the eggs in one basket on one game, or that we circle it ... we circle all the games, and if you're on the schedule we don't decline any shows."

Boston won both regular season meetings against the Lakers last year.  Here are more NBA betting stats for Thursday's game. The Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Thursday games. Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
