NASCAR Sprint Cup Series: Does Anyone Really Bet This?

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

NASCAR Spring Cup Series betting odds have been posted by BetUS.com.  The question is:  Does anybody really care?

While NASCAR is arguably one of the biggest professional sports, it's not among the most bet on.

In fact, it was just a few years ago that some online sports betting sites required wagers on other major sports such as the NFL or NBA in order for customers to be allowed to bet on NASCAR races.  In other words, NASCAR-exclusive betting was not permitted.

Perhaps that's discouraged people over the years.   Who knows?

What we have found here at Gambling911.com, year after year (and 2009 has been no different), is that this sport attracts the least number of betting related inquiries.

One would think that the Indy 500 and Daytona 500 might attract a significant number of gamblers.  If either event does, they certainly bypass the Gambling911 website.

Considering odds to win these races is set up no different than major golf tournaments, it sort of boggles the mind.  This past weekend we nearly witnessed 59 year old Tom Watson win the 2009 Open Championship as a 100-1 long shot or even greater at some of the British bookmakers.  The payout would have been a sweet $10,000 for every $100 bet; $100,000 for every $1000 bet.  Typically NASCAR pays one of the top favorites.

We have to believe that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series betting will not be much different.  Still, it's one of the few major sporting events upcoming to bet on and there are those who will place wagers at BetcUS.com.

All odds to win the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series appear below and are available at BetUS.com.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
