The two heavyweights are known for their focus on hitting, but they approach the sport in different ways. Cro Cop, at 220 pounds, is a kickboxer who relies on his quickness, while Nelson is a grappler who uses his 263-pound frame to knock opponents out.

Neither fighter enters this bout in peak form, each having lost two consecutive battles.

The Croatian Cro Cop (27-9-2) comes into the bout on a two-fight losing skid, getting knocked out by Americans Brendan Schaub and Frank Mir. He is well known for his attacks from the left side, particularly to the head, as 66% of his skill breakdown is in striking, making it the key to victory for him.         

Nelson (16-6-0) also comes into the fight having lost two in a row, with one of them against the aforementioned Frank Mir. But Nelson was able to take Mir the distance, losing by decision, whereas Cro Cop was knocked out. Nelson’s past six wins have come through a knockout, and with his size and punching power, it is realistic that the KO victory will be the outcome against his Croatian foe.
